Of Endings.

Three posts.

Pitiful, if I do say so myself. It seems this blog has not gotten off the ground. As my sister put it, it has met an untimely end. >.O

Poor thing. It's not its fault. But, not much can be done. My sister and I have decided, after getting a brief taste (very, very brief) of the Blog World, we have decided to go our separate paths.

So! Here are thinks to our brand new shiny blogs! (Well, the first one isn't new, and neither is the third, I suppose...)

http://bussweetbus.blogspot.com/

This blog is sort of a personal journal of mine. For those of you who don't know, my family decided to take a leap into absolute sanity and sell our house. And move into a bus. Hence the blog title. This will be cataloging our adventures through the eyes of Yours Truly.

http://illiteratebanjo.wordpress.com/

This is my sister's blog. It's her writing/reading/banjo/review blog. Good stuff, there, and the introduction post had me laughing quite hard. :P

http://goldenink.wordpress.com/

This blog is a reworking of an old one, and it's my reading/writing/reviewing anything I feel like reviewing blog. It was only started yesterday, so it only has one little post in it. But I have more planned.

So, with that said, and the proper links given, I shall bid a tearful adieu to this blog, and send it out in its own little boat full of lillies.

 God bless!

Meet the Characters - In Which the Night is Dark and Stormy

Considering the fact I only just came up with this story yesterday, it's developing surprisingly fast. <.<

Xethrin - the Hero

Xethrin, nicknamed Xeth, is supposed to be the typical male hero of Fantasy. Humble background, his village gone, with considerable magical power (so he discovers). He’s rather quiet and often questiones the strangeness of the highly cliché and inconstant plot of his story. He is known to use large words and fancy phrasing. Women, when they meet him, tend to fall instantly ‘in wuv’ with him. Of course. (‘B cuz he‘s, liek, totally cute!!!!1 <3 <3 <3)

Jethphroth  - the Wizard

Jethphroth is an extremely powerful wizard who appoints (or at least tries to) Xethrin on his quest - to find the Beautiful Princess of Andora, who holds the only key to saving the world from the Evil Power of the Ancient Dark Lord. He is supposed to be old, wise, and mysterious. However, much to the dismay of the Narrator, he is extremely forgetful and he can’t keep a secret to save his life. He even admits at one point that his shocking age of 1,406 is actually quite young to some of the old mysterious wizards/mages/mentors he’s met. He collects mittens and stamps.

Quenarie - The Princess’s Rival.

Quenarie is the daughter of the evil Dark Lord, whom Xethrin and Jethphroth meet somewhere on their journey to find the Princess. She was evil just like her father at one point, but after Xethrin (whom she only knew for a day, but fell hopelessly in wuv with him anyway) gives her a one paragraph speech of inspiration, she becomes one of the heroic good guys in about two seconds. When exited or upset she has a tendency to fall into text speech, but when she is sad or angry she uses large, elegant words.

Kvytrlpetlk - the Dashing Thief Who Has Never Stolen Anything

Yes - his name is impossible to pronounce. When he introduced himself, the other three try for the sake of mutual peace to call him by that name - but much to his horror they finally give up and start calling him “Pet”, the only pronounceable part of his name. He is supposed to be a dashing young Thief of the story, but he can’t actually bring himself to steal anything. When asked about this, he explains that he is a “Thief by Name Only.”

Bethy - The Princess

Her name is not really Bethy, but her real one is so long it takes up two whole paragraphs. As the first part of it is “Bethanne”, they call her Bethy for short. She is well known for her beauty throughout the land, often referred to as “The Fairest of Them All.” She tries her very best to be a Mary Su. Unfortunately for her, she can’t. For one thing, she is torn between two major Mary Su personalities - the beautiful delicate Damsel in Distress, and the rough-and-tumble-tom-boy-I-
need-no-one-Warrior-Princess, who can fell full armored men three times her size with ease. On top of that, she doesn’t like most animals, and most animals don’t like her. She does have a furry companion, though, but it’s not the kind one would expect.

Ueeb - The Furry Companion.

Ueeb is everything a Furry Companion should be - magical, smart, and loyal. Bethy first came across him at a tavern when the innkeeper’s wife was mistreating him horribly. She instantly fell in love with him and made him her pet, cooing over how incredibly cute he was.

He doesn't actually look like an Oreo on a cupcake, but all the other pictures were creepy.

And last, but not least:

The Narrator PhD - The…er…Narrator.

The Narrator, who has a PhD in Narration, is a sarcastic individual who often scoffs at the plot's extreme cliche and unbelievability. However, he believes it is his job to uphold the way the story is ‘supposed’ to go, putting his personal opinions aside. He often appears when the above characters are being particularly rebellious (sometimes intentional, but sometimes the poor dears can’t help it) and makes things ‘right’ again. As he is only the Narrator, he explains, he has no physical power over the story, and can only interfere when the plot is inconveniently altered. He can, however, choose not to interfere. He knows everything about the story, the characters, and the plot, but can only reveal so much to them. He is the only character that is fully aware that he, and the others, are just a story living between the pages of a notebook.

Once Upon a Time...

This is a story of a girl named Eowyn and her sister Terra. Two completely fictional people made up for the purpose of this story. Or the story was made of for the purpose of them. Either way, any resemblance these two girls bear towards any individuals you might know is mere coincidence.

Eowyn is a girl who loves to Scribble, and Terra is her twin sister - who also likes to Scribble. One day Eowyn was on a website, and a friend of hers who was very near and dear announced that she had created - gasp - a blog! With much squeeage and grinning, Eowyn pulled up her internet browser and buried herself in this newly created section of what is known as the Internet.

And, behold, there was the blog - with one of the shiniest templates she had ever seen. The template awed her. Quickly after commenting she dispersed and visited the blogs of other friends near and dear to her, all of which had the Shiny Templates she was very much beginning to adore.

Then it struck her. What if she were to have a blog? Then she would be able to have a Shiny Template - all for her own! She mused and giggled over the idea. However, reality was crouching close by. She did not have time for a blog, it whispered in a Kill-Joy like fashion.

She went to her sister Terra and told her of her woeful tale. But Terra was much more insightful then her sister, and she made a brilliant suggestion that rekindled Eowyn’s hopes.

They could share a blog! And a Shiny Template!

Alright. So maybe any resemblance Eowyn and Terra bear towards People You Might Know is not entirely coincidence.

That is, in essence, as silly as it sounds, how this blog began. But it was not created entirely for the purpose of having a Shiny Template - though that was a contributing factor. I, Eowyn, am a writer, and so is my sister Terra. We share many interests, a love of music, the written word, reading, but we also have many differences.

This a blog looking at the world through our eyes. As writing is our first passion, many of the post hereafter will be about that, but there will be other Scribblings as well. That is why we chose the name “The Mirror Mazes” - this world is a collection of mazes, and these are our reflections as we travel through  them, trying to find our way.

We may make a few wrong turns or hit a few dead ends. And I hope that we will make several right ones as well. But with Christ as our guide and His word as our map, we will never be truly lost.
